My Granada Mk1 and an 'RO Performance' Restoration - angry and disappointed, money lost

 New rear O/S jacking point fitted after having removed or cleaned up rusty steel first. This is a pattern part jacking point but it's a good fitt despite going onto some previous repair work.  It is an important part as it ties together the floor and sill.  This can now easily carry the weight of the car. Below pic is the floor section above the jacking point. Some cleaning up and some small repairs were needed before being seam-sealed and painted. The seat belt mount point has been re-enforced both in the footwell and underneath. 

 The new outer sill that RO fitted all had to be removed and another new one purchased. And in epoxy primer.

 I removed the rusty bits of tin that RO Performance had welded and this is is what it was like underneath.  No attempt to clean up rust simply tack weld some offcuts over the rust and that was it. Professional ???? I paid for this 'work' ! And here is the same area after I repaired it.  The entire outer sill that I paid them to fit had to be removed to clean and protect the bare steel, do extra welding at the top of the vent panel and some strengthening near the front jacking point that RO has just tacked a postage stamp piece of metal on and left fresh air to hold the rest together. I had to cut out part of the hinge pillar repair (that they fitted) to repair things properly. And as you can see fresh air is no longer being used as a jointing material.

It's not perfect due to underlying repairs but it's a damn sight better than RO managed.   

 

 Also the remains of the outer sill popped off with a screwdriver 🪛 that was how good the welding was 🤬 I've not found any Blu-Tak yet but there is time.
